Every piece has to do the obvious thing well, and then do one more thing you did not have to buy separately. A table that rolls. A nightstand that charges. Storage that fits where a real table will not.

If the second thing is not genuinely useful, it is a gimmick, and gimmicks get returned.

HOW A PIECE MAKES THE CUT

We start from the friction, not the spec sheet. Before anything gets listed, it has to answer four questions.

1. What does this actually fix? Not what it has. What it fixes. If we cannot name the frustration in one sentence, it is out.
2. Does it fit a real room? Measured against apartments and rented bedrooms, not showroom floors.
3. Would you leave it out? If it looks like equipment, it ends up in a closet, and furniture in a closet is not furniture.
4. Can we be honest about it? Every limitation has to be something we are willing to print on the product page. Fabric drawers get called fabric drawers.
